However, there are strict deadlines to be met while working. Technicians should be able to handle pressure and deliver their best within the specified timeframe. Those who work for motion pictures may need to work continuously for hours, depending on the contract and the deadlines of the work. Many television stations operate 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. In this case, broadcast technicians may be called to work even on holidays, at weekends and in the evenings.

Those who want to have a competitive edge over their counterparts can obtain certification from the Society of Broadcast Engineers. Only technicians with a few years of experience are eligible to appear at the examination. With the right skill set and expertise, experience broadcast technicians can also be promoted to the position of supervisory technicians or chief engineers.
